Accessibility
NexerDoc is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all users, including those with disabilities.
Our Commitment to Accessibility
NexerDoc is committed to ensuring that our digital platform — including our website, mobile application, and patient portal — is accessible to all individuals, regardless of ability. We believe that healthcare access is a fundamental right, and our Licensed Medical Oversight model extends to ensuring that our digital services are usable by everyone.
We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards, as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines define how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.
Accessibility Standards
Our platform is designed and developed to meet the following accessibility standards:
WCAG 2.1 Level AA Compliance
We target conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA, which includes:
- Perceivable: Information and user interface components must be presented in ways that users can perceive, including text alternatives for non-text content, captions for multimedia, and content that can be presented in different ways without losing meaning
- Operable: User interface components and navigation must be operable, including keyboard accessibility, sufficient time for users to read and use content, and content that does not cause seizures or physical reactions
- Understandable: Information and the operation of the user interface must be understandable, including readable text, predictable behavior, and input assistance to help users avoid and correct mistakes
- Robust: Content must be robust enough to be interpreted by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies
Specific Accessibility Features
Our platform incorporates the following accessibility features:
- Semantic HTML Structure: Our pages use proper heading hierarchy (h1-h6), landmark elements, and semantic markup to ensure screen readers can navigate content effectively
- Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements are keyboard-accessible, with visible focus indicators for users who navigate without a mouse
- Color Contrast: Text and interactive elements maintain sufficient color contrast ratios against their backgrounds, meeting WCAG AA requirements
- Screen Reader Support: Forms, buttons, links, and images include appropriate ARIA labels, roles, and descriptions for screen reader compatibility
- Resizable Text: Content can be zoomed up to 200% without loss of functionality or readability
- Alternative Text: All images and non-text content include descriptive alternative text
- Form Labels: All form fields have associated labels and clear error messages for input validation
- Focus Management: Custom focus management for dynamic content updates, modals, and navigation changes
- Reduced Motion: Respects user preferences for reduced motion animations
- Error Identification: Clear error descriptions and suggestions for correcting input errors in forms
- Link Purpose: Links include descriptive text that clearly indicates their purpose and destination
- Language Declaration: Page language is properly declared for screen reader pronunciation
Accessibility Testing
We conduct regular accessibility evaluations of our platform using a combination of automated testing tools and manual testing by trained evaluators. Our testing process includes:
- Automated accessibility scans using industry-standard tools
- Manual keyboard-only navigation testing
- Screen reader testing with popular assistive technologies (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack)
- Color contrast analysis
- Zoom and magnification testing
- User experience testing with individuals who have disabilities
We continuously monitor and improve the accessibility of our platform as part of our ongoing commitment to inclusive design and development practices.
Third-Party Content
Where our platform incorporates third-party content, tools, or services (such as payment processors or analytics providers), we endeavor to select providers who demonstrate a commitment to accessibility. However, we may not have full control over the accessibility of these third-party components. If you encounter accessibility barriers with any third-party element on our platform, please contact us so we can assist you or find an alternative solution.
Known Limitations
We are actively working to address the following known accessibility limitations:
- Some older PDF documents may not be fully screen-reader accessible. Please contact us if you require an alternative format
- Certain interactive data visualizations and charts may have limited screen reader support. We are working to provide text-based alternatives
- Some third-party embedded content may not fully meet our accessibility standards
We are committed to resolving these limitations in our ongoing development cycle.
